Stonefield is an inventor and serial entrepreneur with a rich history of success in digital media. Listed as "one of the top 50 mobile content executives" (Mobile Entertainment Magazine), Stonefield has spent 15 years conceiving and productizing applications for networked media development, distribution and marketing.
Stonefield and his team pioneered downloadable song distribution (in cooperation with AT&T/Bell Labs) in 1995; popularized ringtones worldwide in 2000, creating today's $8 billion ringtone market; and now at eMotive Communications is developing an evolutionary social media sharing solution for the mobile broadband marketplace.
Prior to founding eMotive, Stonefield founded and ran Moviso LLC which he sold to Vivendi Universal in 2002 and again to InfoSpace in 2003, where the Moviso venture generated over $500 million in revenues and helped to double InfoSpace?s stock price by driving five consecutive record quarters of profit.
With broad frontline expertise with interactive media applications and market strategies, Stonefield is widely considered a mobile entertainment expert. He is a co-author of three patents in the media telecom area, is a valued advisor to venture funds and industry analysts and serves on the boards of innovative companies.
