Less is More

Emotive was born out of the realization that, to date, most businesses are not making the most of the expenses that come from arming their employees and business users with mobile devices – be them smartphones or tablets. Although the power of these devices is significant, the most common business use of these phones is still only phone calls and email. Most businesses provide little to no access to critical information that resides in the systems of record used to run day to day operations. Be it sales forecasts, order status, or problem reports, employees are left to open their laptops and fire up full applications in order to view or update even small pieces of information. Some applications now have mobile interfaces, but, too often, they try to duplicate much of the functionality found in the full desktops or web apps. This forces the user to wade through a number of pages of information just to get to the piece that is specifically useful to them.

Emotive believes that, in some sense, if you mobilize less, you get more. It is better to focus on few, frequently-used capabilities that will be used by the majority of users rather than to provide "too much" functionality on the mobile devices. The Emotive team is a combination of deep mobile and enterprise software experience. This combination is required to solve the puzzle of providing easy to use, consumerized user experiences while simplifying access to data resident in the various enterprise systems that are running the business.
